Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts

The works of the Ukiyoe artist Katsuhika Hokusai (1760-1849) are well known throughout the world and are said to have influenced Impressionists such as Monet and Van Gogh.
This exhibit introduces works by Hokusai from three viewpoints; “landscapes, beautiful women, unique ideas”.

Approx. 370 pieces are on display including Important Cultural Properties “Two Beauties” (MOA Museum of Art) and “Clam digging” (Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts), as well as original paintings, wood prints, printed books, etc.
A special feature, the “Osaka and Hokusai” corner introduces his little-known relationship with Osaka.
