While it has been 540 years since the completion of the Edo castle by Dokan Ohta
and 410 years since the establishment of the Tokugawa Shogunate by Ieyasu Tokugawa,
Asakusa has a much longer history of 1,370 years,
dating back to the discovery of a Buddha statue in the Sumida River in 628.
