You reach out – right now – for something : Questioning the Concept of Fashion, at Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art, Kagawa
14th June - 23rd September, 2014 | Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art
This is an exhibition based on Nakako Hayashi’s book Expanding Fashion (Space Shower Networks) published in 2011.
Hayashi worked as an editor for Shiseido’s culture magazine Hanatsubaki in the 1990s and later became independent and promoted fashion and art mainly through her own magazine here and there.
In Expanding Fashion, she introduces the new movements that happened in the world of fashion and around since the mid-1990s onwards.
The vibrant activities of the artists that Hayashi throws a light upon drew an enthusiastic reaction.
