1st May - 30th September, 2016 | Kitayama River, Kitayama village, Wakayama
Timber was a traditional industry of Wakayama and logs were transported to areas by floating them downstream along the Kitayama River.
This activity was modified into a rafting tourist attraction in 1979, and now attracts more than 8,000 visitors a year.
A 30-meter raft made of logs is steered by an experienced raftsman, who will guide you on an exciting 70-minute ride along the river.
The raft passes through attractive scenery and sections of white-water rapids that should make the journey unforgettable.
