30th June - 2nd July, 2016 | at Aizendo Shomanin Temple, Osaka
Places where the flavor of history strongly remains: Aizen girls chosen from the public add bright colors to Aizen Festival, giving away LOVE BLESSING ROLLS to festival participants in yukata, and parading in Hoe palanquin.
In the Hoe palanquin parade, a recreation of geisha girls visiting Aizendo by palanquin in the Edo era (around 1700), they parade the 1.5km distance from Tennoji to Aizendo slowly, exchanging shouts. The parade with the shouts ”♪Here comes Aizen, Ho, eh, kah, go, Pretty girls, Ho, eh, kah, go, Good business, Ho, eh, kah, go” is part of the old sights and sounds of Osaka we want to preserve in the 21st century.
