Hoekago Parade to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine for the Toka Ebisu Festival

10th January, 2017 | Namba to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine, Osaka
During the Toka Ebisu Festival a parade through the shopping and entertainment districts of Namba area takes place.
Each shopping street has its delegation with a palanquin carrying a geisha, actor, or selected miss. The palanquins are called hoekago (宝恵駕籠) and the word is rhythmically chanted during the parade.
