Ceremonies to open the official climbing season of Mount Fuji — the highest mountain in Japan, 3,776 meters high above sea level.

There are two major events such as omichi-biraki — a ceremony of going through torii gate by the priests praying for the safety of the climbers and yama-biraki — a ceremony to mark the opening Mount Fuji's climbing season, at each shrine.
