Star Night (Planetarium × Candle Night), at Kyusakuranomiya Public Hall, Tenmabashi, Osaka

25th February, 2018 | at Kyusakuranomiya Public Hall, Tenmabashi, Osaka
Kyusakuranomiya Public Hall in Osaka was constructed in 1935 in memory of Emperor Meiji (1852-1912). Recently, however, it has been used as a wedding venue and on Feb. 25 the building will be opened to the public for Star Night.
This one-night event attracted around 1,200 people last year, and this year it will include a planetarium projector known as Megastar to assist in the stargazing. The system will be installed in the main dining room and fill every nook and cranny with more than 1 million stars and even images of aurora borealis.
At the same time, around 1,000 candles of varying sizes will be lit outside the venue so that they can add extra ambience to the night. Other candles will be set alight in the venue's chapel, where three 20-minute choral performances are scheduled to take place.
In addition to the sparkling elegance of the evening, the event organizer will set up photo booths at spots around the building.
