Yoshimura Yoshio: Beyond Hyper-realism at Tokyo Station Gallery, just outside the ticket gates at JR Tokyo Station's Marunouchi North Exit

Yoshimura Yoshio: Beyond Hyper-realism at Tokyo Station Gallery, just outside the ticket gates at JR Tokyo Station's Marunouchi North Exit

23rd November, 2018 - 20th January, 2019 | Tokyo Station Gallery, Marunouchi, Tokyo
Hyper-realism? A word too simple to describe his works. The drawing of wire netting that stretches over 17 meters. The 365 self-portraits he drew every day for a year. The newspapers he copied, letter by letter. All of the works created by Yoshimura Yoshio (1950 - 2013) are super-real, but also exude an unsettling strangeness that strikes the observer.
